Building resilient health systems to provide people with sustainable, affordable, and quality healthcare is the cornerstone of our strategy

Social & Economic Empowerment

The ability of governments to achieve their social and economic goals with limited resources, largely depends on the efficiency, transparency, and flexibility of public administration institutions.

Despite the substantial progress, there are certain economies that are marked by extreme social and economic inequalities, particularly among women and marginalised groups.

We believe mainstreaming gender is critical to achieving long-term development goals. With experience in policy development, capacity building, adaptive management, community mobilisation, behaviour change communication, deepening social safety nets, beneficiary feedback analysis, poverty assessment, and evidence-based monitoring, we create inclusive and sustainable solutions. Our work can be classified into three broad areas — building girl capital, empowering women, and nurturing resilient communities.

We are building girl capital by tackling unequal access to education; bolstering their voice and agency through Sexual and Reproductive Health Education; ensuring that they gain academic and vocational knowledge, and building life skills so they have opportunities to generate income.

We are empowering women by addressing economic and normative barriers to improve the health and nutrition outcomes of women and their children and by promoting sustainable livelihoods. We use a variety of interventions to achieve women’s empowerment goals, including conditional and unconditional cash transfers, behaviour change interventions to challenge social and gender norms, and improved access to social protection programmes.

We are nurturing resilient communities by promoting locally relevant climate adaptation packages, developing a hyper-granular vulnerability index for introducing climate-smart agriculture practices among small and marginal farmers, and conducting research in resilient food systems.

With a growing number of informal settlements, inadequate and overburdened infrastructure, and services (such as waste collection, water and sanitation systems, roads, and transport), worsening air pollution, and unplanned urban spaces, there is a need to build cities that are inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable.
With in-depth experience in this domain, we leverage our people capabilities and technology to provide holistic solutions that navigate through complex urban challenges, improve quality of life and drive smart growth. We advise governments in developing countries including South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Africa on how to tackle urban sustainability challenges by developing and implementing strategies for a low-carbon, and sustainable future.
